What is Intuitive Eating?

IE stands for intuitive eating. Put simply, this means learning to listen to your body for cues when and what to eat. As many people use food as a crutch, learning to eat intuitively can be a long and difficult journey. Uncovering issues that have been buried under food for many years is both painful and relieving.Intuitive Eating also recognises that the advice often given to those in search of weight loss - “Eat less and exercise more” - is not easy. Simple in theory perhaps, but not easy at all. It also recognises that weight loss with lasting maintenance of the new lower weight is rarely realistic if dieting is the method of weightloss. Intuitive eating teaches its followers that lasting weight loss is not about the what, when, where and how you eat, but instead about the critical why you eat. There are many books on the subject, but I personally prefer Beyond Chocolate and Breaking Free from Emotional Eating.LinksBeyond ChocolateIntuitive Eating ForumIntuitive Eating on Wikipedia
